Welcome!!

Welcome to my blog, I have chosen to blog my journey of WLS in hopes of helping others, going or hoping to go through this journey. My journey started in 2007 when I finally made the decision to call Dr. Forgione's office for the information packet. I then scheduled myself for the informational meeting in Aug. 2007 and then began a long 6 month journey of weightloss. Only to find out my husbands insurance company did not approve the surgery in May 2008. I got my own insurance through a job in Aug. 2009 and restarted the process and was approved for surgery in Oct.2009 and had surgery on Nov 25, 2009. I chose the Realize Band, for the main reason the port is low profile and larger, compared to the LapBand system. But its a choice that is individual and I recommend you do your research.

New Life Again!!!!

So my lapband slipped and failed, I had to have it removed on 4/2012.  And decided after gaining 30 pnds that I did not want to continue gaining so I had the VSG surgery which they did 6/2012, they cut 90% of my stomache out and I am now 5 months out and doing great!! I can eat whatever food I want without it getting stuck. I am currently 2 pnds from my goal of 155.

ER Trip

Well, I got sick with some sort of stomache bug, vomiting for 4 days straight, so I finally decided 9/11/11 to go to ER where they took out 8.5 cc's of fluid from my band. When I went to ER I weighed 155 pnds I had lost 10 pnds in 4 days from being dehydrated. I learned from this experience that it is so important to stay in contact with your surgeon. I had an appointment on 9/29/11 where I found out that I had gained 10 pnds from my last appointment. He put back in 5 cc's.

So Close!!

Well, I had another follow up appointment with Dr. Heider my BMI is 27 and he said a normal BMI is 25, he said I am doing fabulous. I went home to Vermont to see my family and they were so shocked at my transformation, I tried on my nieces size 11/12 and my mom's sizes 8/10 and I fit into them all. It really felt awesome to know I was getting that much smaller.

1 year 6 months Bandiversary

I just cannot believe it's been a year and a half since my surgery. I have had some trials and tribulations on this Journey, however I would do it all over again. Recently I have had .75 cc's removed due to severe reflux issues at night. I am feeling much better.
I am down to 173 pnds to date I have officially lost 100 pnds since surgery. Yeah me!!

NSV: Size 12/14 Pants!!

It was last week I put on a pair of my size 18 pants that I had just bought back in November, and they fit perfectly well now they are way too loose, not a bad thing mind you, however it was time to go looking for some new sizes. So I decided I could not afford to keep up with buying my clothes at Walmart anymore as much as I love the JMS brand, so I went to Goodwill and tried on serveral pairs of pants, I cannot believe I could get into a size 14, and I can fit into a size 12 with having to lay on the bed to zip, no thanks to my C-section belly. I cannot imagine what size I am going to be come another 20 pounds, am I going to surpass my dream of a size 10?
